Surface treatment by chemical pickling
Specialised since 1976 in the manufacture of stainless steel containers for the chemical, food and cosmetic sectors, we are equipped with fluo-nitric acid baths to carry out the passivation of our containers.
Since 2014, we have been offering our surface treatment services externally thanks to our expertise in this field.
Our SME DNA combined with our experience in demanding sectors allows us to offer a rigorous, quality service with short lead times (4 to 5 days).

The principle of passivation
The pickling of stainless steel consists of the dissolution of the mixed oxide layer formed during the welding process.
This mixed oxide layer has a chromium content that is too low to allow the formation of the passive layer that gives these steels their “stainless” character.
Once this layer is removed, the chromium present can oxidise on contact with air or water and form a continuous film: this is known as the passivation phenomenon.
This passivation can either occur “naturally”, in contact with the ambient air, or be accelerated by the chemical action of an oxidising agent by immersion or spraying.
Passivation therefore protects against rust and
metal parts from further surface contamination, thereby surface contamination, thus prolonging their life span.
